Layout - love is the master key

Hello! How is your Thursday going? Ready to slide into the weekend?

The kids are just finishing up their school term this week, how on earth can my baby be half way through year three?? How and when did that happen?

Today I have a quick layout to share that I made up last weekend.  This really is going back to my usual style which is "detailed but flat" - you'll notice I don't use flowers or really bulky embellies very much in my work... I really admire layouts that do flower-up but I just can't do it!  Plus, there's nothing more satisfying than altering a bit of chipboard and splattering some paint..

So what I've done here is splattered some purple paint onto the music sheet, and misted it with gold.  The fence has been left unaltered, but the roses are woven in to secure them against the wood.  The skeleton leaves came from the very depths of my stash, and the black bling just pulled it all together I think!

Layout recipe:
Cardstock/paper: offcuts
Flowers: Kaisercraft, Prima
Wooden fence: Kaisercraft
Doilies: SU!
Skeleton leaves: stash
Black bling: Kaisercraft
Rub on sentiment: stash
Paint: Adirondack
Mist: Tattered Angels

Projects coming!!

Happy Tuesday!

Boy it's been a busy week. School holidays are coming up, and they can't come fast enough! The past fortnight has been a whirlwind of school, appointments, home diy planning and minor disasters (sure it can be fixed, just need to think it out and ask someone at the hardware store for advice I think), sports day yesterday and dress up day today!!! Plus the usual.  I have. Managed to get two layouts done which I was going to submit as part of a DT application, but I'm not sure now - will make a decision and either submit or share soon!!! Also finally got my new All Dressed Up digis printed and one is coloured up ready for a card. So I've been busy but not sharing!

Have a happy day!!! (I need a nap......)

Card - hello there

Hi! Are you having a lazy crafty Sunday? I'm trying too, but it's very difficult with The Boy and The Man at home... Luckily they have just 'remembered' that the Disney channel exists and are happily out THERE watching TV, so I can be in HERE creating without having to stop every couple of minutes to deal with usual mummy/wife/house things!!! Yay!

So first up today I have a bright and happy card to share. Isn't it happy? The image was designed by the very talented Christine Ingram. Can you see this little dude has a cochlear implant just like The Boy? How cool is that!!! I am hoping to. Make up some cards for our mates at RIDBC before The Boy and The Man visit there next month but I will see how I go!

Card recipe:
Cardstock/paper: Marina Mist, Bashful Blue (ret.), Whisper White (SU!), blending card, That's My Boy (Echo Park)
Stamps: boy (Christine Ingram), sentiment (SU!)
Colouring medium: copics (I know, I need to get in the habit of writing down my combos!)
Other: embossing folder (Provocraft), embroidery floss, brads

Challenges:
Tuesday Morning Sketches: sketch #253 + masculine

Papertake Weekly: for the boys
Cute Card Thursday: #325 so macho
Sister Act Challenge: #61 anything goes
Scrapers Delight: anything goes + layer it up

Next up... Still deciding - a card featuring the beautiful Tatiana from Sweet Nellie stamps or a layout??? Stay tuned :)

Layout - pew pew!!!

Do you watch The Big Bang Theory?? I love it and it doesn't matter how many times I have seen the same episodes I still laugh and laugh... And yes I quote the characters too!!! (This morning I quoted Sheldon to The Man while we were out in the car - which of course made him look at me like I was insane since the quote was mid conversation and only really made sense to me... But nevertheless was fitting, witty and totally amusing lol!!!...)

So what has this got to do with my layout? Ever seen the episode where Bernadette plays Halo with the boys and says "pew pew!!!" In that high voice of hers while she's shooting bad guys in the game? That is soooo what I was thinking when I found these photos in my photo box of The Boy shooting targets in the bath.

Layout recipe:
Cardstock/paper: Echo Park, DCWV
Stamp sets: washi tape (Prima), Polaroid (Kaisercraft), Gorgeous Grunge (SU!), French Foliage (SU! retired)
Inks: Midnight Muse, Real Red, Only Orange, Crumb Cake (all SU!)
Other: washi tape (SU!), black pen, brads (Kaszazz, unknown), circle dies, chipboard arrow, green paint, coils

Challenges:
Stuck?! Sketches: June 1 sketch

Card - happy birthday wishes... Again :)

Are you looking forward to the weekend? I am, and not just because it is a long weekend, but because I I have been working at double pace for the past 5 weeks while my boss has been on leave and no that she's back I feel so much more relaxed, not so bone-tired and ready to create!!!

Today I have this fun card for you, I am still working on my colouring and those dastardly flowers! So many of you crafty bloggers make flower placement look so effortless....!! The purple shades look a bit off now that I look at the photo - the colouring, card and flowers match much nicer in real life! (The background paper helps pull it all together)

Card recipe:
Card stock/paper: Kaisercraft, SU!, X-press it blending paper
Stamp: Art by Miran, sentiment by SU!
Colouring medium: copics
Other: doily (SU!), bling (Kaisercraft), flowers, buttons, circle dies

Tuesday Morning Sketches: #252 sketch

Art by Miran: anything goes
Papertake Weekly: anything goes (3 June)
